1. What the Standard Is
The Waffle Standard is a versioned list of checks that a delivered hour of first person video either passes or fails. It is not a description of the content and not an opinion about its quality. Every requirement on a GRID posting carries a method before anyone commits. Anyone holding the delivered file, its companion files and the Standard version can run a deterministic check again and get the same answer.
2. The Five Checks

3. The Four Methods
Each requirement on a posting, including each of the five checks, is tagged with one of four methods.

A requirement is tagged "set by the capture app" or "checked on delivery" only when the app or the pipeline can back it on the day the posting is published.
4. What a Passed Check Means
A delivery report records which checks ran, on which files, with which checker version, and what they returned. A check is warranted only to the extent it ran and passed on the delivered file. Nothing else about the content, its fitness for any model or purpose, or its rights is warranted by the platform. The Standard is a specification and a method is a way of measuring against it; neither is a promise that content meeting the Standard is fit for any particular use.
5. Where Each Check Runs Today
Status as of this version. A posting shows, for each requirement, the method that applies on that posting.

Footage captured outside the Waffle Video app, with a partner's own devices or from an existing library, is checked only where the posting says so. Everything else about it is declared by the partner.
6. Versions
Each posting names the Standard version it was published under. A new version never changes a posting already published or an order already funded. Earlier versions stay readable in the archive.
